What this calculator estimates

Protein supports many normal body functions and helps build and maintain tissue. This tool gives a broad planning range rather than a personalized clinical recommendation.

How the range is estimated

The calculator multiplies body weight by a grams-per-kilogram range selected from your activity and goal. The result is intentionally displayed as a range because age, training volume, total energy intake and health status can change needs.

Spread protein across the day

A daily total is often easier to reach when divided among meals and snacks. Include foods you enjoy and can afford: dairy, eggs, fish, poultry, lean meat, soy foods, beans, lentils, nuts and seeds are common options.

Food first

Protein supplements can be convenient, but they are not required. Whole foods also provide vitamins, minerals, fiber or other nutrients. Check labels because serving size and added ingredients vary.

When to get individual advice

Kidney disease, pregnancy, major illness, very high training loads and other circumstances require more specific guidance. Ask a clinician or registered dietitian before making a large change.

Frequently asked questions

Is this result exact?

No. It is a transparent planning estimate based on averages. Validate it against real trends and how you feel.

How often should I recalculate?

Recalculate after a meaningful change in weight, activity or goal. Avoid changing the plan because of one day of scale movement.
